To begin the onboarding process, we require a checkout flight with one of our checkout instructors. Each of our checkout instructors is specifically trained to help you transition from you previous aircraft over to the Flight Design. Ample Aviation is built for pilots who already have their CFI or CPL so generally the transition is fairly quick, 2-5 hours of training getting to know the aircraft and its characteristics.
This transition training is billed at $165/hr which includes the $110/hr aircraft rental and $55/hr for instruction. If you feel you would like additional training practice after the initial training we offer programs to help match experienced time builders with new members.
To become a checkout instructor a member must be in good standing, hold at least a CFI license, have at least 25 hours in the make/model and be current in the make/model. If you would like to become a checkout instructor please reach out to Konrad directly.
