Founded in 2023, Ample Aviation was founded to promote aviation, provide educational opportunities for members, foster camaraderie among aviation enthusiasts, and enhance flight proficiency and safety through training and events.

We operate a single Zenair CH-650, a model specifically designed to excel in the FAA’s Sport Pilot/Light-Sport Aircraft category. 

The CH-650 boasts impressive handling characteristics, closely resembling the earlier ZODIAC models but with slightly increased roll control forces. Its new, thinner airfoil reduces drag and enhances top speed. Wing flaps have been added to lower stall speed and improve performance. After rigorous testing by designer Chris Heintz, the aircraft’s stability within its useful center of gravity range was deemed very satisfactory, with no tendencies towards a flat spin during incipient spin tests. Spin recovery remains both conventional and quick.

Equipped with the reliable Continental O-200 engine, the CH-650 generates 100 horsepower, cruises at 90 knots true airspeed, and consumes just 5 gallons of fuel per hour. This makes it an exceptionally economical option for both long journeys and flight training.
